Over the years Holme Valley Sharing Memories has developed a collection of unique resources for display and to stimulate discussion with other groups and in local schools.

These resources continue to provide inspiration for other local and regional projects and we collect photographs, objects and artefacts, both to document the work we do and act as educational material that can stimulate our project work.

They include:

  • A wartime suitcase filled with objects
  • Traditional toys and games
  • Medicines and toiletries
  • A gramophone player
  • 1950’s picnic hamper
  • A collection of photos from the Holme Valley and lives of its residents
  • Stories and photos of Holme Valley woollen mills
  • Models of a mill, fireplace, range and set pot
  • Old newspapers and historic documents
  • Recordings and sound archives

If you are interested in finding out more about any of our resources please contact Sally Brown on 01484 968551 or email
